I wrote Tip of the Hat after I realized that everyone might want to know what the weekly winner reading would sound like. Well, I am not one to plagiarize or read someone else's work without their permission. That really left me with only one option: I had to write a scary story.
Don't worry. No one conducting the contest can enter into it. I am not submitting this into the contest. It is just an example of what a reading would sound like. So, if you like the idea of your story winning and being read on my YouTube channel and website, then please enter your submission.
Writing this story allowed me see what contestants would be up against. For that reason, I am changing the word count rules. My story clocked in at just under 3,000 words. It took me twenty minutes to record. 1,500 words might be a little restrictive, so I am extending it to 2,500 words.
Some people have mentioned that they might not be able to submit their work because they have submitted it somewhere else. You may want to check with your other source, but that is not a requisite for you to enter the writing contest. By submitting you are agreeing to allow me to use your story in any media format, but you keep the sole rights to the story. Always. I am not here to steal anyone's work. I just want us to have a great time together.

I hope you enjoy this video every bit as much as I did making it.
So, turn your lights off, your volume up, and make sure its not near your bedtime - you might not get to sleep anytime soon.
